My Dirtiest Little Secret

I didn't want to feel like this anymore
So I took the glowing blade and
slashed myself open and
poured red into the sink and
it didn't work
it didn't work

I didn't want to feel like this anymore
So I stopped eating
and stayed up exercising myself sore
and tried to reach sweet glowing thin and
it didn't work
it didn't work

I didn't want to feel like this anymore
So I drowned myself in liquor
and swam through it away
from my feelings and
it didn't work
it didn't work

I didn't want to feel like this anymore
So I f*ck*d people who didn't deserve me
and felt so wanted
and walked away with all the power and
it didn't work
it didn't work

I didn't want to feel like this anymore
So I turned to Jesus Christ my savior
and said Father cleanse me
Father make me whole again and
it didn't work
it didn't work

Megann Scully

I'm Megann. I fall apart quite often and then I write about it. I'll be honest, I very rarely write happy poetry. When I try to write a happy poem, it isn't any good. But I love to write, it helps with therapy, and having people read and respond to it helps with validating my existence and stuff. The end. more…
