My Dancing Poet

You dance into the light...
Chasing the stars, the moon, the night.
You catch our hearts, our minds
In melodious flutters, metrical leaps, we find
Ourselves pulsated to another place,
Another time and forget our present until
Our explosion of cries arise, upfill and die
and we stand still...
Totally alive, in awes of admiration of your art:
Emotions put to music,
Expressed through movement,
Fashioning us to feel hopeful and free
 Captivated in your moment.

Hi, I'm an ESL teacher, but hey, I don't matter....IT's the words. I love that you all like writing and look forward to reading your work and being inspired. I feel I'm not alone at this. I write a lot for my students to get them to write back. Here in Quebec, in French schools literature seems to get forgotten especially at primary and secondary levels...well who has time between all those French rules you have to teach! So in the ESL classroom, I try and introduce as much literature as I can. I try to get students to enjoy it. Then, I show them how it helps them to see the gray and a way past the end of their noses. A word by itself is a wonderful thing, as worthy to the fiddle one string but adorned with a sentence a word blossoms in sense inviting young hearts to sing...
