Murder of the Romanovs (Nicholas II & His Family)

They tread into a cellar
Their footsteps go unheard
They knew what was to happen
Yet they dared not speak a word

Four cherubs in white dresses,
Dark tresses bound with bows
A lad forever bleeding,
Pain's the only thing he knows

A somber, sad-eyed beauty
That this world misunderstood
A meekly fatalistic soul
Too kind for his own good

A wicked world's no haven
For saints that must depart
The silver scythes of hangmen
Seize life from innocent hearts

Now I ask you, Russia,
What defense will ever be enough
To taint your holy ground
With the scarlet of their blood?

“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and I'm just as strange as you.” ― Frida Kahlo more…
