Motivational Musings in an Undead World

I've been wonderin'
if I can
pick it all up -

lift the solemn sentience
of yesterday's happenings
to the application
of each today.

I've forgotten
what's worth the insatiable
yearning
rushing in
with every rise of my eyelids.

I don't know
what to do with
all the time
that demands its own wasting.

Is it healthy
to simply adjust
to the manufactured rhythms
of our taxidermied days?

Is it a fool's game
to follow the paths available -
balancing the world tucked into
the cavities of my mind
and the one that makes me
feel like the illusion -
still hoping to find the loophole
in this world's caveat emptor?

Maybe it is.
Maybe not.
Maybe this generation will
see its undead desires
met by a response from
an Earth with little left to give.
The mineral reality setting
available for any possible world
dictates which are sustained by illusion.

If all empires must fall,
my heart is gladdened
that the Earth is the final victor -
let this Empire of Mind, Conquest, & Commerce
wake up to its own delusions.

I'm waking up
to the potential
of dreaming the world alive.
