Momma's Best

My mother's name is Patricia,
My family the Funderburk clan,
She had two little girls,
By nature, not by plan.

She raised us so completely,
With tender and loving hands,
She loved us all and showed she cared,
And her words were our commands.

She always taught us right from wrong,
Said this was important for us to know,
And made sure that we listened,
Then sat back and watched us grow.

When the day comes that she closes her eyes,
And she finally gets to rest,
I'll just smile through my tears and whisper,
I love you momma, and thank you for doing your best.
