Moments that subside

Silhouettes are buried in a monument to pain
Emptiness converges in a hollow stretch of vein
Appetites are breeding, what will they request?
Confusion is the hunger that aids the soul at rest

Persuasion grieves in anger and waits to be resolved
Apologizing gently are the lives it has involved
Patronized conception is perverted by the truth
The urge to feel constructed has risen from its youth

Denial brings a frequent pause that entertains the soul
The balance of futility so swiftly gains control
Faded from the map are the borders of reprieve
Rotting in the grave of intentions to conceive

Forever dances slowly on endangered slopes of time
A flood of drained emotions at the scene of heartfelt crimes
Redemption claims the banner that was envied by the sky
Instinct earns the discipline to anticipate the lie

Knowledge waits discreetly with convictions to enhance
In a debt of insurrection and this prophecy of chance
Parades of unclean talent storm the halls of wounded pride
Serenity lies dormant in these moments that subside
