Mixing Metaphor

With my sleeves rolled up to your smile,
I want you to know I'm yours for awhile;
Let's fix the fence, paint the house too,
Whatever is broken, fix it, that's all I do.

You shake your head, nod, then pause,
Muster up in reluctant courage because;
That's not the reason you call in a hurry,
There's more important issues to worry.

This 'nest' is fine and all the toilets flush,
The lights are bright the furniture plush;
But the pillow cold and my moon is red,
I'm ovulating, now get our butts to bed!

Tracy Bollinger

Always liked to write and have written poems periodically over the years. I've never shared them withanyone except for immediate family. Decided to take the plunge and put some out 'there'. But bearwith me, I don't really know what I'm doing. This is therapy of sorts and I hope to let go of the need to rhyme. It's a mental condition. I recently found out my grandmother used to rhyme all herletters to anyone. Go figure. I hope you all enjoy my ranting! I do like what I've seen other's post. more…
