Mistress

Mistress,
a married man's lover,
despite the fact that he's with another
loves him regardless

By day, he plays happy families
with the wife and kids
by night, he performs his routine normally
tells her he's going out with his buddies,
takes a shower, gets dressed,
then goes across town to the mistress

When the wife's not doing her duties,
playing her part,
she gladly steps in as an extra
to mend his broken heart
when the missus isn't giving love,
she'll gladly take her place in bed
always there for him,
when push comes to shove

Promises he loves her,
that someday he'll leave his wife
so they can be together
filling her head with lies,
empty promises he can't keep,
so with her, he can always creep
to him, his wife's number one
on his list of priorites and to-do's,
she'll always be number two
