Miracle or mirage
Fires blazing in the skies
Over the forever of shifting dunes
The sands… whirling within the winds
On and on, mile after mile
And I crawl…until shadows of the moon
Burdened by heavy heart
a vast wasteland barren and doomed
But, on knees I continue to edge
Reaching out further for the haven in you
Lucid dreams becoming exotic fantasies of a true love
Merely, seeming always to elude
A mirage I am seeking to grasp
But,like time slips on through my fingers too
My destinations, your arms of love
Like the sands that fall through the hourglass
The heat from desert floors from mid after noons
You are the oasis that appears at last
An exotic angel, the vision
In white satin dresses you drift forward as if out of dunes
And offer your beautiful tender hand
Mine offered trembling reaches forth
Frightened to have you, and then to lose
For the wounds still unhealed
Which haunt from the loves out of the past?
Still…you draw even nearer, unveiled
And your soul squeezes through to become liquid
The teardrops, waterfalls unto collapse…
Into pools they plunge
And I catch them into cradling hands
Like the season’s rains they refresh
And quench my heart of its barren lands
In this I find strength to rise now
Onto legs once too weak that I could not stand
Wiping away the pains
I am free from the chains of my sorrowed past
And I now capture your hand, and you gently breathe into me
And we together rise holding you so very tight
As we fly
Fly up, skywards towards the new sunlight
To the highest peaks
Snow capped and covered with ice
To join the legion of angels
Abiding among the heavens
And live together forever in paradise
