Mine and Yours

Disappointment is sitting
on your shoulders,
his cruel words whispering
and begging for your mind’s rule.
And (sigh) you let him in
and allowed him to win your heart
without a fight
and now, you start to see
without true sight.
Though I have been there
to see what you have seen,
I want to hide you from what must be
and stand by your side,
take your hand and pull
you away from pain inside.
Please forgive, if you cannot forget
though you can set blame upon my chest,
I deserve that one and the same
a million times to serve this purpose
and to rid myself of shame.
