Midnight and Slumber
Midnight wraps
its sleepy voice
and sends me across
oceanic dreams
silently pulled
by the invisible tide
all is still
and calm
as though the sea
is made of blown
glass, I see
my tired face,
and soften a
laugh, while
the sudden breath
ruffles the black velvet
waters,
and the dream ripples
rhythmically,
and fades smoothly
into the colours
of midnight and
slumber;
