Midnight

As love forsook my garden
And hate stood by my side
I begot my midnight
So in the cold I hide

The air is thick upon me
Stale as autumns leaves
A shroud, a living coffin-
Suffocating me

The willows hang in silence
The blades beneath my feet
The night is all around me
My woe is my defeat

Come a thousand rainfalls
Flood my inner greed
Take my hand to violence
And on my anger feed.
