i'm numb to the pain and pleasure of the world,
i don't know how i got here
i'm so near the end and so far from the truth
that i can't discern what i've learned
from experience versus what i've been taught
and i fought them tooth-and-nail until my knuckles bled
and my throat was sore and red from the screaming
at their ignorance, my insolence
i have no patience for being belittled
