Metamorphosis

It's that time again,
time for me to shed my skin.
Morphing into something
truly more terrifying
then the outer shell:
I'm becoming my old self again.
From the ashes of my life
comes a beast with no heart;
destroying myself
and burning down
all that surrounds.
I fear none but the man who
you can't truly see;
Multi-faced monster
who's paranoia makes it destroy
everything in its way.
All it wants to do is die
but will push on today
to make it all go away.
I can't control the twisting and turning,
I can't fight the aching burning
that sets my soul on fire.
So I'll just give up,
I can't win, but I know I'll be back again.
