Mercy

Compassionate forbearance is "divine" charity.
"Not getting what I deserve" is defining mercy.
Dodging bullets in my life I didn't have to die.
A second chance was a gift I didn't have to buy.
Speeding dispatch in my life I didn't have to pay.
A stern warning was a gift I didn't have to sway.
Facing conflicts in my life I didn't have to choose.
A preferred path was a gift I didn't have to lose.
Amassing debts in my life I didn't have to own.
A credit line was a gift I didn't have to hone.
Walking tightropes in my life I didn't have to fall.
A safety net was a gift I didn't have to haul.
Fighting swindlers in my life I didn't have to sue.
A dumb scoundrel was a gift I didn't have to cue.
Caught red-handed in my life I didn't have to stay.
Pardoned offense was a gift I didn't have to weigh.
Compassionate forbearance is "divine" charity.
"Not getting what I deserve" is defining mercy.
