Many Tears

Many tears have fallen in the past
Things don't hurt so bad at last
Only the future knows the tears
I will shed in my last years
I took my heart away from you
Because you only made me blue
The more I tried to please your whims
The more you hurt me time and again
As I ponder those things allowed in the past
I wonder why I let that hurt last
Why could I not let you know
That the pain must stop or I should go
I've already failed two out of three
How much endurance is expected of me
