Man

I am the master
And yet the servant
I long to grow faster
Perhaps more observant

Did a being create me,
Or am I evolved?
Why create a fuss?
It will never be resolved

Why do I search
No, grope, for meaning
In the Holy Church
Or Temples in Darjeeling?

Why must part of me
Despise to destroy;
While the other, free,
Play with life like a toy?

Why must I waste
Half my life learning(rote)
Why make haste?
Let's put it to a vote

Why must I kill
Parts of me wanting peace?
Why must I hold in,
Parts that want release?

It's no riddle who I am,
Although it's a mystery
From Ameriac to Vietnam
No-one knows my history

I am religion, exploited
By power-crazy 'messengers'
True believers quieted
By hell-bound passengers

I am Jesus, I am Buddha
Or maybe I an none
Am I Bramha, am I allah?
No, I am one,

Then, I am science
Exploring, growing, sharing
With Earth my alliance
Forever-strong, well-faring

I create, and I destroy
Only because I can
To me life is a toy
Yes, it is I- Man.
