Make Your Choice

Words are like clothing
they may serve as a mask
perhaps a disguise
or even a gown.

These words that we speak
should never be trusted
though they may be sweet,
they can also be toxic.

Serving as insults
and the reasons to cry
words may seem harmless
until you feel them like knives.

Remember the choice
your words can be clothing,
a sharpened new knife,
or a sweet joyful moment.
