Maelstrom

Flaws buried deep within await the light of day
Their tolls seem heavy a price to pay
Drawing me ever farther from loves shore
False salvation fogs my mind; too thick, through which to see
While flaws drown affection given unto me
And for me; doused affections are unreflective
Away your light drifts beyond my gaze, as I beg of its' return
Pleading for another chance to mend my godless turns
Yet; another of hopes efforts, summon the reemergence of flaws
Drooling out from cells I secured them in
Demanding penance for havoc wrought sin
Flaws towing power strengthens now from the vortex depth
Once caught inside the eye of the maelstrom
And salvations fading light above outrun
Just sink beyond hopes deliverance

Gerald Lee

My poetry has always been derived from life experiences. I have had six poems published in chap books; one of which was translated across Europe (Broken Arms), which has been my pride and joy! I am a Pagan practitioner officially since October 31, 2009, and have loved it deeply ever since. I have a male lover of 19 years March 1st, 1994 to whom I have been hand fasted. I never considered my poetry to be great, I do however enjoy writing it and sharing it with others. I am currently working on one short story, while an older one is rough written and hiding in a box. I do plan to submit one in the not so distant future. I never know what to say here: So I will leave this with Love and Light; Blessed Be! Gerald more…
