Love Me or Leave Me

Love me or Leave Me:

My skin may not be flawless,
There may be circles under these eyes,
My hair is mine regardless,
I have cellulite on my thighs,
I don't wake each day to be perfect,
At the best I am okay,
But you rather love me,
Or you leave,
That's about all I have to say,

I suffer from depression,
If you walked my trail you'd know,
That when I am quiet,
I am angry,
Cause if I said a word,
Then I would blow,
I have anxiety that's deeply,
Please don't mistake it,
For just fear,
Because if I could,
Then I would shake it,
But this is greater then may appear.

I may not wake each day to be perfect,
But at the best I am okay,
But decide,
You rather love me,
Or you simply walk away,

I am not competing for affection,
I've got to here,
Just as I am,
Yes I have a few small problems,
But underneath I'm still a gem,
So you take me,
Or you leave me,
You rather love me,
Or you don't,

But don't think that I will beg you,
Cause my dear I simply won't.

Dustin Atwood

My name is Dustin, I am 29 but it feels as if I am a lot older by due of wear and tear.I credit this, to the way I write.I discovered Poetry, when I was 16 in high school. It was a way for me, to put my emotions on paper and get then out of my head. Time went on, and I discovered that using poetry, was in a sense my release from this world. I have struggled with sexuality, loss, depression, anxiety, self doubt, you will find these things in my writing.I like to think my writing is my souls dialogue. It is a voice that maybe the outside me, would never have the courage to say.It is things that have happened that many don't know, a sort of secret side of me. I hope you enjoy! more…
