Love and Pain

Pain needed love, or needed its absence,
Twisted distress it wriggled in torment.

Love soaked pains tears by the bucketful,
Pain was killing love and love knew this.

Pain smiled and stroked loves heart,
And love buckled with each vicious touch.

Love took its desire to pains sanctuary,
It made its bed with misery and sufferance.

Pain adored love especially it’s destruction,
It fed it hurt and fear - told it tales of hate.

Love believed pain - because pain was devoted,
Showed it’s loyalty with its burning anguish.

Pain enveloped love with grief, misery and anguish
And love shrunk shedding its beauty. - crushing desire

Love lay dying at pains feet, screaming for mercy,
But Pain rejoiced as he swallowed love whole.

Pain was the only thing left when love died,
Victory was its song - It was always jealous of love.

Love was missed by pain so it winced and let love in,
But pain needed love - or needed its absence

Pain waits for love to grow again, feel alive and adored,
Pain waits in shadows for love - love will return to pain.

They belong together.

This write was inspired by Ian Sawicki's Depression loved suicide poem. Thank you for the inspiration.
