Lost Spark

Judas came
And Judas went.
He left a dagger in my heart.
Said we had to part.
But left the gold
To glitter:
It's still there,
Glistening on the horizon.
And my chest is still rising.
Heaving with a dead emotion.
My mind in chaotic motion.
My head whispers a crazed commotion.
Unrequited!
The blade burns hot
But my eyes are just staring
Glaring at old photos,
Collected mementos.
Blighted now by a closed avenue
A damp kindling.
Never to ignite any spark.
Lost to the dark.
And I can't stop the shaking.
And I cant stop the thinking
That he was faking
Making me safe
Taking me under his wing
Causing me to sing
With joy!
Oh boy.
The gold will rise each morning.
But the glitter it will go.
Fade to ash.
Slowly dim.
Until I no longer think of me and him:
Me and Him
