Guilty Pleasure

Lorelei

I write to you, lover
Hoping to stay true
Knowing only you can script this tale.
I can only chronicle it, a by-stander in my own life.
An innocent caught in a drive by
Scattered amongst the victims of the past

You once said you could stop
Whenever you wanted to
Now, I wonder when that will be.
Am I wishing on an unfilled dream?
Does the future hold anything for us?
Or, am I to be content with guest appearances in your heart?
