Lonely road.

On a dusty road with sand on my feet
Being controlled by my enemy
Lowly and sorry for everything I've done
Lost in a world without sympathy
Skin very dry and bones very weak
Tears falling down like a waterfall
Finally my feet give, my legs tremble much
Pulling with my arms, forcing me to crawl

Why am I in this humiliating position?
Why am I struggling to stand?
I've lost trust in love
I don't think it's real
Even when he offers me his hand

I'm simply sad and alone
With nothing to call my own
When I work hard and smile
I get tossed off my throne
It is driving me crazy
But I refuse to give up
I'm just afraid that one day
It won't be the same
I'll just rot on the ground
Until my name fades away

I had friends.
But I don't want to need them,
Because in the end
It will cost me my freedom.
I had to stay humble
Or the people will mumble
Stones and bricks are cast
Good moments won't last
Rejected from caring
My life has been daring me to survive.
Yet I don't feel alive
I feel like I'm burning inside
Constantly hiding
Running, walking, crawling
Falling into a hole
Cover it up with dirt
So I'll have no where left to go

I just want peace
And to be happy
Enjoy small things
That keep me laughing
It's just so hard to find
I'm so far behind
This cage makes me feel vulnerable
Tearing skin from my knuckles
This lonely road I'm on
Keeps me locked into this circle
Called life.

Lanelle Taylor

My name is Lanelle Taylor , I love to write. Usually because I'm a peacemaker outside of writing and do not express myself much especially if I think that it wouldn't make the situation any better, so I would write to escape. I apologize if my poetry is long, repetitive, or doesn't make any sense what so ever. It's more emotional than factual. ♥ Thank you for taking time out of your life to read and criticize. I try my best to say thank you to all the comments. Love all you poets out there, keep up the good work.Live . Love . Laugh . more…
