Liquid Consideration

Narcotic blinks of wild euphoria
capture medicinal purpose and laughs
as a sunken ship within the bottle
of my eye threads itself into the brain.
Alcoholic games wreak bitter havoc
on the nerves which jingle with greed's wisdom,
and the dragon's last breath blows dizzy heights
across universal freedom that's trapped
in emotional serenity's cry,
ragged habitual simplicity.

Gun smoke curls intellectual notions
while saturated endeavours strip sighs
from the mind's imaginative blue bliss,
there is an injected conversation.
Liquid consideration bubbles streams
of personality towards the sky,
an escape artist's reflective shadows
where aesthetic criteria is drawn
with professionalism bordering
on insanity's commercialism.

I climb from vision with careful patience,
choke on the fragrance of cool wishful thoughts,
broken glass footsteps are left behind me,
their trail fossilises quickly in time,
there is no need to look back and be still,
to change suddenly into crusted salt
for I am already what my tears hold.
The future's calm green death weaves subtle shapes
while the present stands in pools of collapse,
spider webs glisten in dawn's glitter.
