Lily Took Her Final Nap

Lily had a little time but gave so very much.
Though taken during her prime she left a tender touch.

Lily had a slinky flight but sought a tummy rub.
Though demise chose to requite she left without a snub.

Lily had a gentle cry but sang so very strong.
Though given the kiss goodbye she left a timeless song.

Lily had an open look but eyes of azure blue.
Though crucial to close the book she left a perfect hue.

Lily had a pure spirit but stalked in hot pursuit.
Though removed absent merit she left abundant fruit.

Lily had a happy side but always was sincere.
Though heir to the great divide she left a gift of cheer.

Lily had a vital force but lay no subtle guile.
Though fighting a deadly source she left a gutsy style.

Lily had a lively way but took her final nap.
Though spent by no option play she left an empty lap.
