Life As A Tree

My life began like many others on this earth
From a seed and loving care until my birth
Sometimes we change colors that's plain to see
And do our best to live in peaceful harmony

I stand proudly looking to the sun up above
Giving thanks to the Father showing his love
Waving to each other with help from the wind
Receiving a drink from the sky now and then

Winter brings the cold and fresh fallen snow
The pines protect us with their green clothes
My favorite season of the year is mainly spring
Blossoms of white I wear like a diamond ring

The willow and oak grow extremely big and tall
I grew like that along time ago or so I recall
Legends and myths say for a cross I was used
I'm a dogwood that's freed from further abuse

Linda D. Blakely

I was born in West Virginia and raised in Kentucky. I've been writing poetry since high school and have been in many poetry circles on the internet. I am known in these circles as the "legendarylinda". I have won contests, received medals and many other merits for my poetry. I would love to travel and see the world. My hero is Jesus Christ. I wish to dedicate this book to my parents and all my friends everywhere in the world. ~Peace Legendary Linda more…
