Let Me Die The Death Of The Righteous

Lots of us adored reward
but when it came to earn
we aborted performance
and saw all bridges burn

Balaam lived a life of sin
but when he came to die
he desired a worthy win
though his way did belie

Upshot was held inactive
but when it came to reap
it made outcome finalize
to pay back all who sleep

Balaam said "Let me die the death of the righteous." Numbers 23:10
