Last Man

Silently, the city lie
Sprawled out in the heat.
Empty windows gaze below
To the last man in the street.
Sun burns brightly on his brow,
Highlights through his hair.
Desolation all around,
No survivors there.
He's all alone and lonely...
The last man in the street
Watching shadows creeping
On buildings obsolete.
Forever goes on endless...
The emptiness complete.
And nothing is but nothing
To the last man in the street.

Writing is not something I do--it's something I am. I have been a wordsmith since before I could write. I have now written 2 novels, 6 children's books, several short stories, and boxes full of poetry. I am now disabled but I still have a day job. I have 7 sisters, a dog and 2 cats (one has only 3 legs), A daughter, numerous "God-daughters", A son, and a few "God-sons". I am Extremely Biblical though I don't really follow organized religion.
