Last good-bye

Blood is shed throughout my land,
All family lost by human hand.
The stars hidden in the cloudy night,
yet I can see a wondrous light.

The land is barren with dust and death,
I cry struggling to take my breath.
My paws grow cold in the midnight air,
My adventure ends with no one to share.

No one will know what I have done,
The battle is over but who has won?
The lands soon take me in my sleep,
For this lion none shall weep.
