Ladder Stand To Heaven

Strategically dressed in hopes that I can’t be seen

Slowly, quietly yet aware of each step I take

All senses fully awake praying for an amazing dream

Each scenario rehearsed in my mind, Lord grant me a break

Finally reaching my ladder stand each step closer to heaven’s gate

Morning dew covers me as I strive to reach the top

Make my hand steady, Lord accurate with no mistakes

The view puts me in awe the sun breaking over the food plot

The curtain opens with rays of light creeping through the trees

Sounds of so many creatures harmonize, it’s all begun

God’s love, brown, and red, yellow intertwined in the leaves

A harvest coming, a blessing of time spent with my Father’s Son

Red Jays spectacular trapeze flights from branch to branch

Gracefully no effort orchestrated in each intricate movement

Breathe in your glory wondering if this is my one chance

No matter what comes or goes it’s our time together well spent

This quiet time is when I hear you speaking to me oh so clear

Absorbing the indescribable spirit altering love of Your masterpiece

This is our time, like no other moment in time I know you’re near

Precious Lord I’m engulfed in Your presence filled with Your peace

Dedicated to Scott who shares his heart and love for hunting with me.

Maylinda Jane McRae

I haved live in Georgia all my life. I have four beautiful children and five grandchildren,an amazing man in my life named Scott. God has also blessed me with many loving family members and friends. God has blessed me in so many ways and I want to share with others how amazing he is and the grace that he wants to bestow on others. I have been writing since I was a little girl, it has always helped me to express myself whether it was during a storm or a victory in my life. My prayer is that my poems will help someone who may be going through a storm or celebrate a vicotry in life. more…
