Kindred Spirits

There was a time i would cry crimson tears,
Swallowed my fears with my hate and sorrow for years.
I looked to the sky searching for my saviour.
Then i was sent a grief stricken angel.
Who shared my pain.
You taught me how to drown my shame.
Showed me sisterly love with your own demons to tame.

Ill wrap myself up in a cocoon to shield me from the moon.
A giant ball of light shining on my sins and my plight,
Then draw the curtains make my soul as black as the night.
Thats what i would do just to have you close.
instead of talking to ghosts.
I would have you to hold.
take my spirit and sculpture and mould my lonliness away.

Your blood shot eyes stare back at mine.
I want to save you this time.
Not with hate or with crime but with brotherly love in mind.

And so as we slowly climb these stairs that we share,
with emotions and care.
Ill help you out when you fall down, dive in when you drown,
place a crown on that frown.
So you can stand up and be proud that you saved meeeeeee.

d-ory@hotmail.comIf I try to describe myself I can't cause I don't really know. I think I'm a bunch of different personalities in one body. I' am dark and a little depressed behind closed doors. But towards my friends I' am confident and happy. I struggle for acceptance from people but I do a great job of hiding it.Poetry is my release. Without it I could'nt function. But I think I was always meant to have it. I had never written a poem until I was 22 years old. I did'nt even know I could write a poem until someone special inspired me then shattered my heart. I believe this is why I write mostly dark, depressive poems. Because that's how it all started for me.My tag is weight of the world. Reason being I believe the weight of the world is on the shoulders of a few. And most of us are just standing around consuming and polluting waiting for others to clean up after us. I reflect some of this in my poetry.I live in Hobart, Australia and I' am 24 years old. Thanks for reading. Leave comments, your thoughts and I will return the favour.P.S There are certain words spelt differently in Australia so please keep this in mind when reviewing my poetry. And I 'am on facebook under rosco daw. E-mail at top of page.... more…
