Just Ask..

You can hear my heart speak if you stop and listen.
Just let me know if I'm wrong about my optimism.

My past was hell even my present is hectic.
I've been through so much, its hard not to be a skeptic.
Because every time I shared my heart, I wished I'd kept it.

But with you its different, I could care less about the past.
I just wanna take off my mask, going too fast?
Maybe, but let me know if I should still ask.

Ask for you, your heart, your mind.
Ask to explore everything about you to see what I'd find.
Ask for nothing more than you're time.
Ask and ask until they start to ask if you're mine.

I know you've been through a lot so believing in fantasies is regrettable. But coming with me on this journey could be unforgettable.
We've both been settling for average, how about we strive for incredible.

I don't want to hurt you, that's something I'm trying to prevent.
You have a hold on my heart and you won't relent.
Its like even when we're simply talking its an event.
So I want to take your heart with me but I need your consent.

I know that you may not be whole but I'll love the rest of you.
Just know that I'm trying to be the one next to you.

Who knows what the future holds, but I'll end up with you in my arms somehow.
Until then your friendship is good enough, for now...
