Just a Thought

Welcome to a world where left is right
Darkness day, and brightness night
A world of fun
A world undone
By children's dreams at flight
Come and see the mountains and trees
Come and see the rocks and leaves
 The grass that's green
The things I've seen
Waste deep in fragrant weeds
Look at the sky, and the sun as it sets
The journey is long, and we'll need a rest
The joy it brings
The living things
The chicks chirping in their nest
Join with me as I sail the world
Listen to me, as I tell of a girl
That I once knew
And loved her too
Until the good Lord took her soul
You can live at peace with all here
Talk to God, and walk with the deer
Or maybe not
It's just a thought
Imagine that all is near
Welcome to a world that is not
At least not to the learned lot
It's gone at dawn
As time goes on
After all, it's just a thought

Poetry has always been a release for me. When I feel down and depressed, I can put pen to page and poor out all the feelings that bring me down and I start to feel better.I find it funny how the poems that mean the most to me seem to get the lowest ratings, but the ones I'm just messing around on seem to get the higher ratings. more…
