It was more than a crown upon His head.
It was more than the beating He endured.
It was more than a spear pierced in His side.
It was more than the many tears He cried.
It was more than the nails in His hands.
It was more than a nail in His feet.
It was more than showing that He cared.
It was more than the nails that held Him there.
I've imagined at that moment,
Just before He hung His head.
When He said, "My Father, forgive them."
And in a moment, He was dead.
It was His Love that brought Him to this earth.
It was His Love that taught us how to live.
It was His Love that brought Him to the cross,
And held Him there.
It was His Love; It was more than a nail.
