Maybe only I
willingly lie on beds
of needles
for the denial of pleasure.
Only here
would I beg
for what I do not want,
for everything I do not miss.
Do you watch and wonder
exactly what I am doing?
Could you ever
understand my desire?
Why do I
continue to reach
for the sharp ends
of a double sided sword?
Hide me from
what does not hurt,
for it can’t possibly
be real.
