Indendence Day or World Trade Center

As I looked at my tv screen,
I saw another scene
One of aliens exploding skyscrapers...
As I looked at my tv screen,
I saw a scene of fantasy,
So I recalled.
But no, something was different here..
Something was more real
Something more terrifying
Something more tragic.
This was not a movie,
This was really happening!
And so it will indelibly burn
Into our hearts and minds.
This was the World Trade Center.
This was New York City on Nine One One.
This was a real war with real lives lost.
And then came a flood of tears.
This was not a movie, This wouldn't end.
And neither would the tears.
