In Escrow

Leaving the one you love, even for one day,
presents a twinge of pain
the mind can't portray.
Holding the one you love as you say goodbye
wrenches needs to linger
entwined as you fly.
Kissing the one you love just before you go
burns imprints on your lips
with an afterglow.
Seeing the one you love for the final time
tracks semblance figures
deeply from the prime.
Missing the one you love when you are apart
overwhelms the senses,
while breaking the heart.
Leaving the one you love severs a blood flow.
Until reunited
life is "in escrow."
