In A Smile

A smile holds so many things,
yours holds my heart with strings.
when tears flood my flushed face,
and I am torn from place to place,
a curved line solves it all,
a big change for something so small.

With a smile, I keep a secret,
full of everything but regret,
I am pulled away from the day,
summoned from the frightful gray,
to announce all and nothing with a smile,
to emit my joy from mile to mile.

A grin begs for reassurance,
and investment made for insurance,
a friendly gesture from across the room,
banishing the dark blackened clouds of gloom,
presenting the careful a sight to see,
how much better could this be?

That wonderful expression of face,
send from God in his best grace,
keeps me joyful in a world so black,
carries me away from thoughts of lack,
and pulls me into a world unseen,
where nothing is anything but clean.
