Impressions

Man or bird they know not when,
They are imortalised by concrete or pen,
When they walk on path of grass,
Who's to say how time will pass?

Yes the other day I noticed with glee,
Footprints in concrete so easy to see,
A solitary bird had walked when it was wet,
Now it's permanent with the impressions set.

For many decades it will surely remain,
There for posterity sun wind and rain,
Over the years like fossils in rock,
Forever to see when going around the block.
