Immortality's Placid Ripples

The revolver's deprived of physical
sensation; as dead as the future's mind,
intention delivers a violent blow
as the trigger's squeezed with delicacy.
Cobblestone freedom withers in the light
of fragility's emotional state,
poetry slips sighs of simplicity
across memory's considerations,
life blows a kiss to death while angry scars
evaporate in the blue smoke of love.

And songs flit through fluttered eyelashes,
weaving their musical arithmetic
into promises of eternity;
her casual lies that were caught in time.
Decimation's texture is loaded pain,
the heart bites the face off the cold spirit
while imagination's shell shocked stare
bleeds bold armies of wild weathered soldiers.
She waves goodbye across the distant past
as the cartridge blesses dark perception.

Happiness screams paragraphs to silence,
indignation laughs at complexity
before luxury's soft silk tones explode,
it's the ammunition of dull despair
that twirls sanity around rhythm's grace,
loneliness is irrelevant tonight.
Ironed notions are creased by relentless
agony then shattered into slivers
of immortality's placid ripples,
escape is achieved as the floorboards mourn.
