Linda Parks Owens 1952 (Rockingham, NC) – 2012 (Rockingham, NC)

I've had good times and I have sometimes joked.
I've downed my drink too fast and almost choked.
I have danced many times from dusk until dawn.
And I never covered up my mouth when I yawned.

For all you guys with your same old stale lines,
I laughed as you bragged about your booty finds.
You thought you were the best and getting over,
But I made the choice of who I took for a lover.

I wiggled my way in and out of each guy's door
But I was always sure he was hungry for more !
Cocky and sure I knew what life was all about;
So certain I would win and having not a doubt.

Then one day I realized my teeth were all gone.
I looked in the mirror and the image was wrong.
Who was that fat old crone staring back at me?
Where was the slim young girl I expected to see?
