I've

Andy Lyle 1951 (Londonderry)

I've watched the Northern Lights
And seen a shooting star
Marvelled at cloud formations
Seen lightning from afar

Heard the thunder echo
Watched a raindrop fall
Gazed at the Orange sunrise
Heard the cuckoo call

Laughed when I was happy
Cried when feeling sad
Ran to catch the last bus
Stomped when I was mad

Grief I've known plenty
Taken pills the pain to kill
Been swallowed by emotions
My mind made me so ill

Followed paths to nowhere
Found new pastures green
Walked the hills of heather
Seen the mountain stream

Woke with heart  a singing
Slept in sadness bed
Tried to clear bad thoughts
Running through my head

I know of all my actions
Faith has to be the best
With this deep inside my heart
I know my soul will rest
