I'm Your Drug Whore

You're always asking
Why am I so down on myself?
Yet you're also the one
Who lives to ditch me cold for anyone else
Parading your preference to make fun of me
How meaningless to you I must be
How embarassing and humbling
My heart grows fonder amidst your belittling
Why must you always laugh
When you say good-bye?
To announce you pulled the wool over my eyes
yet another time?
Why is it that you cringe
When I try to sit at your side
You don't try to hide the fact
It's obvious you're repulsed at the sight
that there's no future for you and I
It was a mistake to trust you with the truth
Turn around and use it to make me fall in love with you
There's nothing else but beauty behind your smile
I know that there's no place for me in your life
Aside from fetching your purse or primping your pride
I only can justify caring for you when I'm blinded by denial
