I Thought I Have It All (Poem No. 529)
I thought a thought, but the thought I thought,
Wasn't the thought I thought I thought..
I thought I have all figure out life,
But I've notice I am short to figure it out right.
I thought I am strong enough to face it all,
But I just realize, to ignore my Father's call, I would fall.
I thought for the moment I felt joy
I just realize I am nothing but someone's toy.
I thought true love has come at last,
But I just realize it's not meant to last.
I thought I am on the way to salvation
But I gave in to temptation.
I thought I'm strong enough to stand,
But I realize I'm hopeless without a helping hand.
I thought I am a solid concrete wall
But I just realize I am vulnerable
to earthquake of trials and I can fall.
I thought I'll be forever shining star,
But I realize that dream is too far.
I thought I have done my part,
To love God with all my heart;
But that was just at the start.
I thought I have a home
But then I realize I felt so all alone.
I thought letting someone to love me
It will make me so happy;
But it too went all wrong
Not a bit of help at all.
I thought I could only feel sad
But only because I looked
everything on negative side.
But now I have new prospective of life.
Since I look at the positive side
Things are better now in my life.
When trouble comes,
I dare not to run away and hide.
For I can do all things through Christ
That strengtheneth me by His power and by His might.
