I Saw It All

The dark lit my mind like a lucid dream
I saw it all when ev’ry light went out
It’s all I can do to hold back a shout
That sound you have heard may have been a scream

A scent in the air warns of things hidden
She came from the dark, her hair hanging free
You see in her eyes the horror of deeds
The feeling you sense is here unbidden

It’s here now, the memories come later
She speaks and you hear a voice familiar
See now why you often reach for the jar
A hunger that will never be sated

She looks so sad she must know its over
Maybe its anger, run for the cover
