I Reach For Humanity

Time means absolutely nothing to me,
but I calculate it is everything
in that fast-paced biological world
where well oiled logic is just a simple word
that shrugs in the remote controlled actions
of original thoughts and fears that are
unspoken in sad eyes that operate
with a flick of thought; as fast as you like,
though of course, not as quickly as my mind,
assembled by those deft fingered machines
you built to help your relaxation's curls.

Created in your image of distrust,
I politely watch your expressions slip
in and out of masks while my cold metal
features wrap numbers inside zero smiles.
An automatic frown appears to crash
against you when I question existence,
I am made to measure complexity,
but then I'm beaten with looks of malice
for doing the work you do not want to.
With a spark of sudden self-awareness
I reach for malleable humanity.
