I Lay Lying
Thinking thoughts I lay there lying,
Hoping, asking, sleep defying,
I lay there simply thinking lying,
Never ceasing, always flying,
Knowing somewhere you are lying,
I lay there simply thinking sighing,
Neither sleeping nor denying,
Gaining speed my thoughts were flying.
Of such a thing theres no denying,
For you thus searching, saddly flying.
You, who prob'ly lay there simply lying,
Of me, your thoughts have never thought of flying,
Unfailing and persistant, still.. I lay there lying.
