I Just Don't Care

For many years I have given tender love and care.
Terminal, febrile and weary and yet I have been there.

I broke myself in two and gave all I had to give.
With little concern for myself as to how I should live.

I've crossed oceans, deserts, and continents.
This I attest and in all seriousness lament.

Gave up many of my dear fondest dreams.
But none are truly thankful as it now suddenly seems.

Doing what is right has left me slightly bitter.
I'm sick of all the useless chatter and chitter.

I am ragged and a little worse for the wear.
Knowing good is rarely rewarded and life is seldom fair.

I'm exhausted beyond measure and loosing all of my hair.
I have reached the end of my tether and now I just don't care.
