I Care

Deep blue eyes, piercing my soul
When I looked at them, I felt whole
But you rejected possiblity
You wanted someone instead of me

The pain I feel is deeply within
How tired I get, my fake grins
I wonder why you wanted to know me
And I tried to know you, but you had to leave

I don't know your feelings, I won't even try
But if it helps, I've wanted to die
I don't like to cry and I wonder why
This feeling won't end, it won't subside

Through these words and my steady breaths
I hopw you know the truth so I can rest
I don't even care if you understand or not
only that you care even if I don't understand

When you long to be yourself
I'll walk right beside you
and when you long to be loved and missed
I'll hold your hand tight and I'll miss you

Salisha Hill

I have written poetry almost all my life. I hope that through my words I inspire someone else and help them through a tough time. Maybe they could even relate to my situation. I am 16 years old, and even though I am still a teenager, I feel depressed and words help me to get out my anger and sometimes having others read my poems is good enough for me. more…
